A Comforting Place to Call Home

About Pond Home
& Rogerson Communities

Established in 1899 by the philanthropic organization The King’s Daughters and Sons of Norfolk County, Pond Home has provided quality and reliable elder care for hundreds of families in Wrentham and the surrounding area for over a century. Governance oversight is provided by a volunteer Board of Trustees- active community members – who take great pride in the services we provide.

In 1999, to mark a century of success, Pond Home, together with its management partner Rogerson Communities, created a sister community that shares our campus and our mission: The Community at Pond Meadow offers those aged 62 and better spacious, affordable, one-floor homes in beautiful natural surroundings. The Location is ideal (close proximity to the Cape, Boston, and Providence). Options abound, and the Pond Meadow provides the connections, engagement, and security which is so vital as you plan your future.

Rogerson Communities

For over 30 years, Rogerson Communities has been Pond Home’s management partner. Since developing Pond Meadow in 1999, it then began managing Pond Meadow as well. Rogerson has been providing housing and health care for elders and low-income individuals and families since it was founded in 1860. Today, we serve over 2,000 Greater Boston families through 30 facilities and programs — providing greater independence and longevity to a diversity of individuals. Our mission is to alleviate greater Boston’s housing crisis by raising public awareness, influencing housing policy, building properties to meet the accelerating need, and partnering with other nonprofit entities to develop and implement effective housing strategies.

Meet Becky

Rebecca (Becky) Annis is likely the reassuring first voice you will hear and the warm and inviting person you will meet as you and your family consider the benefits of life at Pond Home. Since 1994, Becky has been the Administrator of Pond Home and The Community at Pond Meadow. Throughout those 30 years, Becky has helped to expand the capacity of Pond Home – allowing us to serve a growing number of residents and their families. Becky has always enjoyed working alongside the volunteer Board of Trustees, initially doing years of long-range planning together, considering many opportunities to best serve the community.

In 1999, Becky and the Board partnered with Rogerson Communities – our management company – to develop The Community at Pond Meadow, Pond Home’s independent living sister community. Although Becky had never envisioned long-term care as a career path, she has long enjoyed being with older adults. When in middle school, she rode her bike to volunteer at a nursing home close to home. Later in college, she was selected for an internship developing social activities for an elderly housing complex- helping to engender a feeling of community and connection. This is a skill she works to hone as the Administrator of Pond Home and The Community at Pond Meadow. She knows it is important that we provide the care our residents need, but it is equally important that residents view this as their home and a warm and inviting place to make new friends and welcome family to visit.

After many years of working with families and residents transitioning to Pond Home, she experienced it firsthand in 2022 when her father-in-law became a resident. This has given her even more insight into the process and a new perspective.

When not busy helping families and residents, Becky enjoys time with her family, husband Scott, and adult daughters Heather and Katie, and close friends. She finds joy in all things related to nature, whether it is gardening, visiting a botanical garden, hiking, kayaking, animals, or chasing waterfalls.

We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health as a Residential Care Facility, and we have a Supportive Nursing Care unit for those who need additional assistance. In the long-term care continuum, Pond Home is that sweet spot in the middle of assisted living and skilled nursing care. We are what most elders moving out of their houses would benefit from experiencing. We are not an alternative to their home, we are their home.
